B I O G R A P H Y

Crackle was born a healer. She always found a way to heal even the deepest wounds. Born in the Sunbeam Ruins, she began to realize that there was more than just this territory. Dragons who didn’t serve the Lightweaver were out there, suffering. When she was still a hatchling (although she worked very hard), she set out to find dragons elsewhere who needed her help.

Her travels took her deep into the Tangled Wood, where she joined a brand-new clan of just three dragons. Crackle was delighted when she found her new home. The dragons there were happy to take care of her and have her help out.

The clan grew and grew and grew. Crackle watched dragons come and go, raised up hatchlings, healed dragons’ injuries. Nothing could fix the growing darkness, though. Aqua came in more frequently, sometimes dragged by her sister, Violet. Nightmares and headaches that were starting to plague Willow as well. A sense of wrongness filled the air. Crackle started to have nightmares as well, and she wasn’t even a seer. But maybe being the clan’s healer meant that she could have mild visions, too. The sun set, never to rise again. Or it was high in the sky, suddenly covered by dark fog, all light choked out. Crackle knew that something terrible was about to happen. The clan would never be the same.

_THE FRACTURE_

____Soon enough, the darkness came. It came in the form of Nightshade. The one dragon everyone trusted, their leader who they looked up to, who promised them peace and safety, was now their enemy. A murderous psycho who wanted to control them. It was basically mass possession with a side of murder. Crackle screeched and flung herself at Nightshade, who simply laughed and summoned three of his possessed dragons- Enslaved, she thought- who dragged her off, clawing at her eyes. Crackle shut them tight, wriggling like a worm to try and slip away, or at least stop them from putting the helmet on. A flash of blinding light, shrieking dragons leaping off of her. She opened her eyes, pleased with her magic. She ran across the clearing, lifting into the air and calling for dragons to follow.

____Few could come with her, but those that did flew fast and frantically, like their lives depended on it. Which they did.
