Garnet

Garnet comes from a clan on the edge of the Scarred Wasteland that was run with a military heirarchy. Constant vigilance was needed to keep their clan safe from the diseased dragons that occasionally wandered through, looking for more dragons to infect. They were also a target for the warring beast clans, due to their small size and border position, and for the wandering Death Walkers, dragons so ravaged by disease from the Wyrmwound that their minds were broken and all that was left was an insatiable hunger, and a complete disregard for wounds and pain.

Garnet left on her search to find her Charge, and found it in the small, shiftless, disorderly mess that was the Windrover Clan. Horrified by their inability to organize themselves and their complete lack of guards or protection of any kind, Garnet took it upon herself to whip them into shape. She is nearly always frustrated in this aim, as the easy-going, happy-go-lucky members are not generally interested in fighting, and none at all are interested in being bossed and regimented into Garnet's preferred military ranks.

She defers to Kennar as supreme military leader of the group, and never addresses him as anything other than "Commander" or "Sir", even when she's telling him off for the sloppiness in his ranks. This amuses him, especially as he's never had any sort of rank at all, and is merely the only one who garners any respect at all from the other clan members. But even he generally leaves the clan to its own devices unless there is a clear and present danger.

She has started her own watch system, but because she is currently the only one in it she never quite gets enough sleep.
