Blood

Blood knows how to be fierce.

He knows how to look it, how to keep his scales gleaming and his armour clean and bright. For the most part, his armour hides the veins of blood he is privately ashamed of. He wishes for the opalization his fellow Hard Bloodletters, frustrated by the lack of blood he can collect and hence give to the clan.

His mate, he knows, is not ashamed of the thin lines that run across her graceful form. He thinks her veins of bright crimson are breath-taking, even if they are not opalization or scales. They suit her, this wild and deadly creature he has found himself paired with.

But the lines do not suit him.

Regardless, Blood knows how to be fierce, and how to kill. Where Shale is decidedly vicious, and sometimes - in his opinion - wastes perfectly good blood, he knows he can be a little too perfect. His veins are always bright and almost bulging after a successful hunt, even with the amount he can store in his armour.

His armour was a gift to him from a travelling merchant, someone who was renowned for their knack of knowing what someone needed, even if they themselves didn't. It had always been able to hold an impressive amount of blood, and the more blood it held the brighter the colour of it.
