Other people, the sighted people, they have such a blinkered view of the world. They see what they see, but they never truly look. Looking is so much more than seeing. Looking implies you're searching, finding, observing something in a different way than seeing.
I may be blind, but I can still look. My senses are my eyes. I can smell if it's good or bad, alive or dead. I can hear its echo and size. I can feel the shape. There is so much more to objects than just a glance can perceive.
Being blind does, of course, have its drawbacks. I cannot fly alone, however I do so sometimes. I never know if I am flying or falling. But then falling... Can it not be a version of flying? You will hit the ground either way.
People think I cannot do anything because I have no sight. They, in my opinion, do not have sight for thinking that way. I have my other senses, and I have my mind. A good mind can get you a long way in the world."
