Biography

gY92LmX.png

Once, on a planet us humans, or most of us humans, all know, a government decided to create a planet. Their reason for this was because Earth was overcrowded and polluted. They had tried other planets, Qwarve being one of them, but none yet had worked. The planets themselves seemed to reject colonisation.

A scientist at UISAW, Unusual Incidents and Scientific Advancements Wales, came up with the idea to put people's minds, their souls, into androids. In this technology advanced world people didn't find this odd, instead leaping at the chance to escape the smog choked Earth, many of them volunteering. Even a few mages signed up, even though they were sceptical of a completely tech planet. A metal world was built, smaller than the Earth and constructed in space. Soon it was sent out into orbit, far, far out.

For a month it was monitored, the computer at the core of it relaying information back, until the scientists were satisfied. The volunteers were asked what androbodies they wanted and some said human, too used to that form to be interested in animals. Others wanted wolf or cheetah, crocodile or horse, eagle or fox, bear or dragon. Many, many different creatures were sent there, to Ackcross, as the artificial world was now known. Adults, teens and children alike were put into sleep mode when the ship was launched, only the few magic users staying awake throughout the weeks the journey took. When they reached the planet they awoke and found the dull landscape, all metal and wires and holograms. They had to stay, no matter how much they disliked it. There was no fuel for a return trip.

There was one, though, a dragon. She had been a mage back on Earth, and her magic still persisted. She couldn't stand this dull world of tech, where the weather, the climate, the night and day, was controlled by the Core, the central computer. She rebelled against it, building a haven of magic for magic on one part of the world. She built trees out of woven threads of energy, houses and huts, even books that she had memorized. The other magic users who had come found her and stayed, sick of the tech that controlled everything. The scientists back on Earth tried to take it and her down, but the magic prevailed.

It worked, the idea of conscious androids, but the tech world never lived up to that of its magic part.

The Shadow Mage’s Triumph

A world of death, they did seek leave.
Their breath the atmosphere did reave.
With worlds of life years away,
In deep despair humans did stay,
Until a world of steel was proposed.
With it, a hope of escape arose.
Mind become energy, bone become metal.
A planet of technology they would settle.

Human, wolf, cheetah, bear, dragon, horse;
These robotic forms were accepted without remorse.
Sent out in deep slumber into outer space,
To reach their new home at brisk pace.

Upon arrival, the truth of this world was seen:
Everything upon its face was with metallic sheen.
All controlled by men from the planet yonder,
Some found this new world not much fonder.

One, a woman-come-dragon of true magic,
Found this new fate outright tragic!
To live in a world of tech controlled by men?!
“Never again,” she swore. “Never again.”

With tooth and claw and thought and spell,
She fought to free the world of its technological cell.
The masters struggled to stamp her out,
Their failure rocked the world about.

Enboldened by her victory and strengthened by her power,
She took half the world and brought about the mechanical menace’s final hour.
Once a mage who walked alone,
Now the leader of a magical home.

No matter the strength of iron’s grit,
It cannot defeat magic’s quick wit.
For on this world of energy and tech
The computer in the mage its match was met.
