a grim reminder of our mortality

iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii He is many things, but he was never weak. He was once a researcher, looking into diseases and how to cure them- even if in unconventional ways. He wanted to study what some called the source of all disease on Sornith- the lair of the Plaguebringer Herself. Getting to the Wyrmwound was tricky, as he couldn't easily sneak in due to his large size.

That would not stop him- he was a dragon of science! He did what he could to blend in with the denisins of the scarred wasteland. He trained to fight until he could handle himself against an enemy, which was somewhat easy due to his large size. He took the trip, and carried only a few supplies.

Beyond the rare scavenging packs of mirrors, there was no danger when getting close to the Wyrmwound itself. There was an undeniable feeling of being watched as he approached. He took a a large vial and pipette from his satchel, and reached over the edge.

It only took an opportune push to cause him to stumble.

He fell into the Wyrmwound, and felt his flesh twisting and growing into a new form. His scales grew larger and morphed, becoming more like armour than scales. His sclera became bloodshot, and his iris became a milky white. He felt his jaw break and reshape itself, turning into mandibles more like seen on a beetle. Antenne grew from his skull like whiskers. It was agonizing. Using the last of his strength, he flew out of the Wyrmwound, and flew until he collapsed.

When he awoke from his slumber, his past memories started to fade. The only thing he knew was to infect.
