HISTORY
The origins of Willius are hazy, even to him. His parents were hardly present in his life. Instead, his grandfather, Adstrum, reluctantly raised him while his parents departed for a trip to the World Pillar. The goal was to investigate the origins of the Shade. They never returned. Adstrum believed his daughter was dead, and grieved her loss as such. During this time, Willius tried to understand what was wrong, but never received an answer. All throughout his early life, he watched his grandfather study the stars from afar. He grew interested in astronomy and astrology this way, and this curiosity extended into his early adulthood.

During a trip to the market of Alliance, Willius met Mercy and was smitten with her at first sight. They seemed to have a lot of compatibility, and within that year, they became mates. Asha was their only hatchling, and as Willius sat on the nest and watched his egg grow, Mercy seemed to become distant. He did not know why, for she would never explain in detail to him. When Asha hatched, their relationship begun to sour. It culminated in an explosive argument that ended with Mercy leaving and not looking back. Willius still regrets the things he said in that fight, and still loves his estranged mate even if she wants nothing else to do with him.

Willius raised his daughter alone. When she began to show magical prowess, he took it upon himself to mentor her. He did everything in his power to teach her everything he knew, and unlike his grandfather tried to be emotionally present. However, he struggles to connect with Asha as father and daughter. He loves her dearly, but can't find the proper words to vocalize them to her. He only hopes she knows deep down.

Willius was from the water flight, but shortly after the disappearances of his parents, he spent his life in the Hewn City where he had plenty of time to watch the sky at night. When he reached maturity, he left to pursue a career at Alliance. In the end, he never returned to the Hewn City or the Sea of a Thousand Currents.

MERCY
Willius and Mercy met in a chance meeting while visiting the market of Alliance. His groceries spilled across the ground, and Mercy helped him pick up the food. They had a lot of chemistry, and Willius wanted to pursue a relationship with her. They seemed to have a really good relationship, until they began expecting a baby. Mercy seemed to grow distant. When Asha hatched, she started reconsidering her choices in starting a family, and when their falling out was predicted by Asha, she only became more distant from her family. Eventually, Willius and Mercy had an explosive argument that culminated in her walking out and cutting off contact. He still loves her, but feels like their relationship is permanently severed.
