- came into the sundrop clan as a youngling to train and serve the lightweaver. unlike most hatchlings of the clan however, he, along with two of his peers (autumn and nylac), became attached to the clan and decided to stay among them instead of joining lightweaver's army.
- however, as nylac and autumn settled down into their new roles as director and lead actor, respectively, of their new theatre company, troy began to feel that he didn't exactly fit in with them. his skills as an actor were subpar, at best, and finally, he decided perhaps he was meant for the battlefield after all.
- without telling anyone where he was going, he snuck out to the wilderness, intending to find his way to lightweaver himself, but instead he found himself among a band of adventurers, led by liam, who were intending to fight luminax. though troy missed his old friends, he soon realized that he felt more at home here than he ever had among them.
- it came as a shock, however, when the sundrop clan's foremost warriors, fenna, kay, and ethan, joined the band as well. troy had always admired them, and it was strange to be put in a context where they were inexperienced and he was the one who knew what he was doing.
- ethan was the first of the three to realize that troy was in fact the dragon who had left months ago, leaving autumn and nylac reeling. out of the trio, he was most determined to eventually get back to their home, and he was the first to ask troy if he wouldn't rather come home with them. though the offer was... tempting, one glimpse of the tight-knit comradery between the trio reminded him of what he would be dealing with back home. no doubt nylac and autumn would have grown closer in his absence, let alone the other two who'd joined the theatre before he left. tempting though it is, troy has a purpose here, and he's not going to leave it until he can be sure he's done his best.
