Appearance

Mort is a wyvern with his hands--complete with thumbs--on the bend of his wings. He has a rather bat-like face and very large ears that can swivel in every direction. He's got a bit of an overbite where his fangs stick over his bottom lip, giving him a vampiric look. His long, whip-like tail is tipped in a razor blade and he's able to hold his whole weight up with his tail. Mort is dark grey with a lighter colored belly, and he's fluffy all over except his pitch black wings.

Personality

Mort is very quiet and observant, always watching to an almost creepy extent. He finds amusement in creeping people out, and is prone to not blinking when he's staring at someone. His sense of humor is a bit twisted and a bit morbid. "To each his own" is his motto and he hates helping people who can help themselves. When someone truly needs help though, he's quick to jump in.

Due to his past, he doesn't get along with anyone but his rider, Kent. He's pretty okay with that though, being the loner type that he is. He dislikes crowds and prefers to sit on the sidelines and listen. Due to his almost superpowered hearing, he knows everyone's secrets and will not hesitate to pass them along to Kent if he thinks it'll benefit them.

History

Around a hundred years ago, Mort was a normal wild dragon living near the largest city in the area. One fateful afternoon he was attacked by someone who poisoned him with a psychedelic drug. Normally, the drug puts dragons into a stupor, but for Mort it caused severe paranoia and disturbing visions. Thinking he was being attacked from all sides, Mort burnt down the city and continued to the next one over, where he was finally brought down. Before he died, he laid an egg that would later lead to his reincarnation. The smoke from his fire caused mass death and sickness and he became one of the most hated dragons in history.

In Battle

Mort's main weapon is his fire breath. However, it's not the fire that's deadly, it's the acrid smoke that comes with it. The smoke is devastating in large doses and can kill if breathed in for too long. Even in small doses, it causes terrible irritation to the eyes and throat. Due to this, Mort is forced to fight up close, which he dislikes. He's pretty good at it though, whipping his tail around to gouge wounds into his enemies.
