Where can I find Grief?

Grief is overgrown garden,
With ivy sealing the cracks,
Prickles and thorns are the wardens,
To the place of no turning back.

Grief is a cold stove in winter,
With no smell of cookies nor cake,
And a hand that gets only thinner,
As the mind drowns deep in it's wake.

Grief is a thing familiar,
That twisted and then turned,
A beast of the still were,
And stones best left un-turned.

Hope was a thing with feathers that battled for so long,
That has become forgotten by the ones that it kept strong.

So now it is grief that perches deep inside the soul,
Grief decays the body and smells ever so foul,

It clings and it wraps every corner as if I a child again,
Protecting it kills me so softly and there in is arms I remain.
