the unknown tale of aleria

As punishment for her for disregarding the legends of old, Aleria has been cursed with immortality to guard the same artifact, a pair of decorated, amber fins, until Escollo itself has drowned. Though the current beholder of her artifact, a princess of a dwindling nation, remains ignorant to the fact that she so recklessly wears such a priceless piece. By extension, Aleria must guard Aleirin from harm as well, as to not risk damaging the artifact she wears and it's current owner. The princess' father knew of Aleria's ties to it, giving it to his daughter when she came of age to "protect" her on her journey.

Although Aleria held some resentment towards the princess at first, she couldn't help but come to grow affection towards her steadfast attitude and outlook in life; something she craves in her directionless life.
