Ever the life of the party, Diode is a joyful dragon, always celebrating despite her eccentricities. Along with her sister Servo, the two guardians arrived at the rescue too young to remember much else of the world, and without much history on or about who they really were. They'd never had the chance to know their parents, so it was to their great surprise (and the surprise of everyone around them) when Diode's patterned scales glowed a bright pink the first time she ever laughed.

Despite her cheerful demeanor, Diode is also highly emotional and struggles to regulate her mood sometimes. This is not at all helped by the fact that her scales begin to glow blindingly, unbidden, every time she experiences a strong wave of emotion. She occasionally envies her sister's softer-blue glowing scales - a little less obtrusive in her opinion, but oh well. At least she never has to worry about a reading light - if the book is good enough. -WRITTEN BY PUFFINSWEATER

One particularly rainy day led Diode's nose to the middle of her 7th book that week. This book was your typical romance, but Diode was absolutely fixated on the words.
