The cold, stone walls stretched out wide around the pair, barely illuminated by the sunlight shining through the cracks scattered about the building's walls. The air was still, frosty and freezing in temperature, giving them brief reminders that they were still in the Southern Icefield. If the pair hadn't been Gaolers, they'd be much worse off than they already were. Yet, even as the exhaustion from their journey and the unbearable cold around them set in, Galvin felt excitement in his chest.

This was it. They were so close to what they'd journeyed out for. The end was in sight.

Galvin started forward as his partner, Corpus began to survey the place, lost in the whimsy of entering a place that'd be sealed for deities-know how long. There were ancient texts, murals, urns, and what seemed like sarcophagi scattered about the main chamber, coated in a thick layer of dust. But none of that interested Galvin as he approached an archway to another room opposite from where they'd entered. He soon found himself in a chapel and was drawn towards the back of the room.

This building had used to be something of a monastery, or so he'd picked up from the locals, devoted to some strange God apart from the Eleven. The stories said that those who used to go here were always stricken with bad luck, either vanishing without a trace or dying surprisingly young, so the place had been sealed off years ago to keep whatever curse that had been cast upon the place inside. Few had even heard of the place and Galvin considered himself lucky to be among that number.

He drew closer to the pulpit that lay at the end of the room, his excitement growing tight in his chest. It can't be this easy, surely. As Corpus studied and sketched away the discoveries in his journal in the background, having too entered the chapel; Galvin rounded the pulpit, finding two objects upon it. One was an old book, dusty and tattered yet still somehow in tact. The other, a gleaming pocket watch, showing no signs of age or even dust for that matter. He dusted off the book and was barely able to make out the word "Revedaen" before turning his attention to the watch.

Galvin reached out for it, almost gingerly at first before nearing and lurching forward in a sudden motion and grabbing it. It felt... normal. He was disappointed as he turned it over. It was a pretty trinket if nothing else. He was about to stash it away before he heard a strange indecipherable whispering in his ears. He looked at the watch again and thumbed over a button on its side. Feeling compelled he pressed down on it and the room erupted in magic.

Corpus and multiple loose things were thrown to the side as a tide of magic erupted from the watch and surrounded Galvin.
