the coming end waits for all and cannot be ignored. can you hear the ticking, fair traveler?

Grim is a watch salesman. They create clocks. Anything that ticks, really. There is a catch, however, to their cheap prices and embossing. The clocks will stop ticking exactly one hour before the death of whoever owned them. They do not advertise it, no, but they will hum and smile under their scarf as they look their newest patron over. Innately, they know when someone is going to die. They find pleasure in knowing how and when someone will draw their last breath. Grim feels the clock tick its last tock. They straighten out their waistcoat and head over to the location they know will be this poor dragon's deathbed. How tragic, they hum nonchalantly. The dragon stares them in the eyes as they die. Yet, they say, pulling out a pocket watch, right on time.
