Sovereign

Sovereign was hatched from a wild egg discovered somewhere in the Reedcliff Ascent. Although the clan is the only home he’s ever known, he quickly became cocky and egotistical. He has claimed many times to be an expert fighter, in fact the best the clan has, and his boasting caught the attention of Veridi, the heir to the clan who he hadn't yet met. The moment he laid eyes on him, Sovereign instantly knew Veridi was his Charge, and took it upon himself to impress him. Veridi easily won a duel meant to humble Sovereign (who was taking it easy on him!), which backfired. Now the young Guardian wanted to get even stronger so he could fulfill his duty to his Charge, and asked Veridi to train him.
As Veridi was without a Charge himself, he mistook Sovereign's interest in combat training for a passion for battle. But Sovereign trained for years, and learned much - eventually surpassing his mentor's skill despite his small size. And their friendship began to blossom into something more... something beyond a Charge and his Guardian. He felt it every time Veridi called him by his nickname "Sov", and an unexplainable flutter in his chest when Veridi smiled at him. For the anniversary of their meeting, Sov knitted a cyan scarf for Veridi, bringing out the colour of his supplementary spines. Veridi surprised him with something even more special - he took him to his secret place, a secluded spot on the far side of Skycloud Clan's cliff. Bashfully, Veridi confessed that he felt something special with Veridi - not like a Charge, but something different - and Sov quickly realized they felt the same way about each other.
They were in love.
Veridi presented him with a small token: a small amber bracelet that fit snugly around Sov's left wrist. He wore it proudly from that day on, as did Veridi with his scarf. And he did, eventually, become a more agreeable dragon, guided by his Charge, his mentor, his best friend, and his boyfriend.
