━━━◇━━━ The Collector |
She was known as The Collector. To most, she was simply a hoarder, known for collecting all sorts of random and useless items. From feathers, to scraps of cloth, to discarded paintbrushes, it seemed like there wasn’t anything Ocelot didn’t collect. And they were absolutely right. Ocelot’s obsession with collecting quickly outgrew the usual inanimate objects and items, and she began collecting insects, sometimes even traveling great lengths to find and capture them herself. She would freeze butterflies and beetles with her magic, giving them an ethereal glass-like quality while perfectly preserving their beauty and movement in a snapshot of time. Soon, insects weren’t enough. Ocelot began hunting down more and more things for her ever-expanding collection, moving from insects, to rodents, to birds, to larger creatures. Driven to what most might call madness by her intense desire to collect and preserve everything, Ocelot began targeting various beastclans and even other dragons. But it wasn’t enough to just have them in her collection, frozen for all time. No, they had to be perfectly posed as well, otherwise what was the point in adding them to her collection? |
Ocelot wanted to collect not only every object and creature she could find, but also to capture every emotion within her ice, frozen forever on display in her underground network of frosted halls and glacial rooms. She traveled around under the guise of a wandering collector — The Collector — paying high prices for anything she didn’t already have, all the while becoming close friends with select dragons. And when the time came for Ocelot to take her things and leave, she vanished, and so too did the dragons she befriended. Many clans suspected Ocelot of murder, but none could find the proof to back up their claims — not that they could manage to find The Collector once she had disappeared, regardless. Ocelot, despite being quite the massive dragon, was an expert at covering up her trail and losing any who might follow her. Lose them... or gain them, depending on the situation. As Ocelot returned home from another expedition, carrying with her a wonderful new addition to her collection, she smiled. Her eyes passed fondly over the many frozen statues, all in unique poses and displaying vivid emotions. They were so lifelike, it was as if they were real — oh yes, that’s because they were. Ocelot hummed cheerfully to herself as she created a pedestal of ice with her magic, and placed her newest statue on it, carefully turning it until she was satisfied. The frozen Fae had a wide-eyed expression, an adorable grin shaping her lovely sky coloured face, which was framed by her extended frills. Most Fae expressed emotions through their frills rather than actual facial expressions, so when Ocelot had met a Fae with just as much facial expression as most dragons, she simply had to add her to her collection. Ocelot stepped back, admiring the tiny statue for a moment longer, before making her way back down the hallway of petrified statues. She had more things to collect and sort, after all. |
