The banescale smiled wryly, "Have you ever had your life mapped out since before you were hatched? Every goal and every milestone, every achievement simply expected of you. But never your own? That was my life until I joined this clan." She sighed as she looked around her, "You know? I wouldn't have minded, I didn't at first. I thought it was a wonderful thing, to never have to struggle and to always know where your life was going. But I am not what they wanted, no I can never be that".

She turned to look at the one whom had asked such a question. "My mother, was the strongest fighter our clan had ever seen and my father....was exalted due to his valour, bravery and fighting prowess. And so the eyes of my clan fell upon me to take up their mantle." Lilith looked pained as she recalled the memories, almost cringing. "I was part of her last clutch of eggs before she left for a neighbouring clan. She always followed the sound of war and never stayed in one clan for long. So I was raised by the Arcane clan I was birthed in. I met my mother rarely, but once she found out I could not fight? She held no interest."

Lilith began to nervously drum her talons against her leg, the more she spoke the faster and more hissed her words became. "And yet, they still expected me to fight! Because I was to be their champion, their weapon!" She shook her head, as though trying to block out the memory and then grinned ruefully. "They tried to train me and force me into the role you know? At least to keep up appearances. They had bragged about my hatching since my mother was found to be with a clutch of eggs. It never worked, and I have these scars as proof of the trouble they put me through." Lilith's scales were peppered with scars from bite and claw marks, some fresher than others.

"I was so eager to please that I tried to become something I was not. But then my sister Aurora, who is blind, was exalted as punishment for my inability to be the weapon they wanted. I swore from that day on I would never listen to them. Aurora was a gentle soul and I dearly hope they made her a healer. She would never survive on her own, she was the most soft hearted dragon I have ever met." Lilith's eyes were filled with tears.

"I escaped many years later while we were under attack by beastclans, and have reared hatchlings of my own. I promise to never treat them like I was treated or my dear Aurora was treated." She stood and turned to a dragon sat at a table nearby on their own.

"You seem like a soul who has happy tales to tell! Come, tell me of that one special person, without whom you would not be who you are today. One who guides and cares for you."

It was a deeply personal question, but she thought only of Aurora as she asked it.
