DEFECTIVE.
What is Defective?
The sun hurts their eyes. They must constantly bow their head, lest they forever sear their eyes. Yet the snow reflects the light and they are tormented all the same.
Chains drag and pull, snagged on metal rods so long ago jammed into their shoulders. Every movement is agony. The fire of flesh ripping again and again as muscle pulls away from the rods and blood oozes from the old, crusty wounds.
When the agony is too great, they lash out blindly. Blood spills from old wounds and chains constrict. There is no peace in their pitiful existence.
The constant torment gnaws at their mind yet they haven't the sense to reach up and remove the source of the torment. They lack the higher function.
They are a simple beast.
They are Defective.
