Biography
Professor Snape is a student of mundane history. He understands the dark minds of dragons and he understands necessity.
Snape presented Synesthesia an offer she couldn't refuse: an impenetrable moat of fatally impassible land and sky all around higashiyuki territory. The exceptions are one narrow pass which is guarded by Synesthesia's own familiar, and any dragon flying upside down or walking backwards across the militarized zone, whereupon they are taken into custody by Snape's forces and presented to Synesthesia for a bounty... Which she may pay... Or not.
Snape and his forces are often (but not always) drawn from the misfits and castoffs of the lair itself. Every dragon in the core has a bone to pick about something, and every dragon presented him or herself to Snape's famous black lair entirely of their own accord.
The bounty is plentiful, the chases are exhilarating, the exaltations are many. Though the force dragons are allowed to roam inside the territory, they rarely do because of the panic that it instills, they are much more comfortable in their outskirt abodes anyway.
If rumors are to be believed, the "border guard" sometimes acts as a secret police, nabbing a dragon (who denies having been anywhere near the outlands) for questioning, "educating", for bounty, or for disposal... But who believes rumors anyway?
Snape carries a Black Scythe, but even the rumors are not foolish enough to report seeing him use it...
