 Echo's name came from her habit of echoing whatever the adults said, she's long since grown out of the habit but the name has stuck with her. She still occasionally repeats what others say back to them, she says it helps her remember important details. She came from a loving family in the Shattered Plain who, unfortunately, no longer had enough room for her. Aidity accepted her into the Lair when she found out that the baby guardian needed a home. When she became an adult she began working as the chief excavator, digging up various items to aid the clan. Her dedication to her work and calm demeanor eventually attracted the attention of Flay, who soon began to court her. Flattered by his interest and having already loved Flay from afar, she quickly accepted his proposal and the two became mates. However Echo still felt a longing in her heart. She disliked being a Guardian. It wasn't that she hated the pull of the Search, it simply felt wrong to her. Like she shouldn't feel it at all. After Flay became a Pearlcatcher she convinced him to take her to the same Alchemist that had transformed him. There she answered a few questions and the Alchemist chose the best breed for her. She became a Ridgeback. Despite some shakiness in her relationship with Flay, Echo life has remained peaceful and happy.
