Monarch
Hatchery Manager
Monarch uses her affinity for fire magic by incubating lost eggs that Clan Kelenthe has found while scavenging or battling in the Coliseum. New parents often come to her for nesting advice, and she oversees the clan's hatchery with a firm but loving claw. She is aided in her efforts by her akirbeak familiar, whom Monarch can rely upon to obsessively watch over her charges.

Because of her role in caring for the clan's newborns, Monarch is widely regarded as an adoptive mother by most of the drakes in Clan Kelenthe. Enterprising beastclans with an eye to sabotage the hatchery and its seemingly defenseless attendant quickly learn the error of their ways when several Ridgebacks, Imperials, and Guardians come thundering to their mother's alarm whistles.

Monarch loves her mate, Emperor, to distraction, but whenever he becomes too much of a handful, she tells him to leave her poor hatchery alone and go play with his food. He is sometimes followed by Monarch's akirbeak - occasionally, the bird fails to resist its urge to hoard eggs, and Monarch must shoo the bird away from the temptation of the hatchery before she can return the pilfered eggs to their rightful nests.
