"Darling dearest, I'm home!" Soulon's voice rang clear through the little home the two shared, followed by the sound of the wooden door clicking shut and the lock being drawn in. Edith lifted her head from where she was kneading the dough, and using her wrist to nudge her glasses up further on the bridge of her nose. Her beloved husband of twenty-three years had finally returned from his 'quest'. By quest, that meant he'd gone out and bought them the next weeks worth of groceries and supplies for their shop. By their shop, that meant her shop, since her husband was fond of wandering off on little adventures around the town while she baked and sold the pastries she made. Not that she minded, of course, she thought it was the most adorable thing! Even years after the couple had retired from their crusading, Soulon never failed to keep their day to day life lively and upbeat, and these adventures more than often enough brought home little souvenirs for her to see. Before Edith could think of replying, her husband swept her off her feet and spun around with her, a joyous laugh that made her heart flutter sounding from him. "Darling dearest, you won't believe what I've brought back for you today! It's simply splendid, and I'm most certain it'll make you happy!" That twinkle was back in his eyes, and the woman knew whatever she was about to see was certainly going to be interesting! So, she delicately took the small basket he'd placed on the table, once he'd set her back down, tentatively drawing the cloth from it, only to be met with two furry little faces. Oh! Oh bless the stars, her husband had brought them pets! Even if they couldn't have children, this was the next best thing he could give her. She gave a small, twinkling laugh of joy and moved to cup her husbands face, peppering his face with sweet kisses. "You, Soulon, are the most adorable man I've ever seen in all fourty-five years of my living. Let me finish dinner, my beloved ray of starlight, and then we may go about settling the newest additions to the family in."
