Kelebek

The day Kelebek hatched, the entire nursery was aflutter, as it normally was on hatching days. Excited dragons surrounded his nest, eager to watch his entrance into the world. His was the only egg nestled in the tufts of softness that his mother had lovingly cradled him in. None of the dragons moved to help as he broke away his shell, it was a dragon's first task in this world to free itself from birth, after all. Finally, he shook away the last of the pearly fragments, stretching out his tiny wings, brilliant like a sunset over peachy clouds. His mother loomed over him, adoring gaze shining down as he breathed tiny first breathes, tasting the air. At last, his eyes opened for the first time, and met his mother's with a steady gaze. She blinked in surprise, and then in awe, marveling at his unique pupils. Kelebek instinctively strained his neck upwards, to touch his snout against his mother's.

"Welcome home, little one," a murmur, echoed by the surrounding clan.
