SO HE WAS INJURED AND LEFT BEHIND FOR DEAD

He was injured, how exactly didn't matter. A sparring match between two of his siblings that he was in the wrong place for, one stab of horns and he was skewered deeply in his side. His wound was wrapped, but he was expected to keep up with his family; he could not.

He sighed as he was picked up by his parents, "okay I'll be carried until i'm well again," he thought. But they carried him far past the den, to a shadowy location. There were the bodies of dead and dying dragons, the scent of death and decay hung heavy in the air. He was dropped here. He looked up at his family and sobbed "don't leave me to die!" "It is our custom, you are not well enough to travel. You will die soon anyway." And they left.

He tried to travel on his own. He would catch up to them, he MUST catch up to them or die, but as he shakily flew he collapsed from the pain, as he unsteadily walked they got further away. He soon lost his way trying to find them. He collapsed at the edge of the sea of 1,000 currents. His huge body shining red with natural scale color and blood was easily spotted by (CLAN MEMBER) (pink wings) healed his injuries. He opened his eyes to the smell of food. "We were gathering food when we found you." His stomach roared loudly. They gave him their food and he scarfed it all down. He followed them back to the lighting clan den, where he promptly collapsed a few dozen feet inside the cave. He was given more healing magic, food and water, and the largest blanket any of them had ever seen was delicately placed over him.

When he was well again he tried to leave the clan and return to his family, but was stopped by an injured hatchling, who was carefully picked up and brought back into the den. He realized these individuals who looked after him were his family now, and he would stay with them.
