Efren

Efren looked up at the sky, wondering what was up there, away from any forms of life on Earth. Sometimes he wishes that he could play in space, bathed in the light from the stars.

One day, Efren decide to try to get to the stars. He flapped his tiny wings, and uncoiled his spiraled body. The yellow bone markings from visiting the dead were still there, and they stood out in the dark, night sky. Suddenly, he found himself surrounded by stars. It seemed he had gotten there quicker than he though. As he played in the light of the stars, a dragon with constellations on its body appeared next to him.
“I see you enjoy the stars and being up here. I’ll give you a gift to remember your journey here as you won’t be seeing me again.” The dragon said
Efren stared in amazement as the stars suddenly merged into his body, forming constellations that matched the strange dragon’s constellations. When the stars were done, the dragon was gone, and Efren was glowing with the stars. Then he heard a voice calling him back to Earth. Efren glanced back into the vastness of space, wondering if he should answer their call. He observed space once more before diving down into the atmosphere of Earth. Then, he saw them...
