Once, several years ago, a meteor touched down in the quaint little town of Galeglow. A small, crystalline, vivid orange meteor. For several days, it sat.
And then, one day, it woke up.
And it watched.
It watched dragons pass it by. It watched hatchlings playing in the streets. It watched spirals twirl and dance in the skies above.
And oh, how it wanted to join them.
It sat there, hidden in the dirt and grass for weeks. Months, even, longing to join the world around it. The meteor wished, and hoped, and dreamed.
And one day, it’s hopes and dreams came true. It’s crystalline form shattered, releasing a swirl of pure cosmic energy.
But it had no form, nothing but stone and space. And as it tried to play with those above, they fled. It tried to join those on the streets, and they feared. But the hatchlings knew no fear. The meteor had friends, and most everyone else thought it was simply the imagination of their children.
But it was not to be. A young red Gaoler pup approached it one day, saddened. She said that someone wanted to take it away.
So it hid. It hid for several weeks, until a blue, batlike drake found it.
And it did something so horrifying that nobody came to play again. It never hurt anyone, not even it’s attacker. But it scared them so, so very much.
But a young Fae found it, and brought it to meet her friends. And they accepted the meteor. They gave it the companionship it craved since it first awoke in this world.
And it crafted a mask from a shard of its stone, binding it to a form that would help it fit in.
And it took on a name.
And its name?
Well, his name is Citra.
