On the best of days, Aquila is a warrior to be reckoned with--she's proficient with almost any weapon you can think of, and has killed more dragons with her bare hands than one can count.

But this is... not the best of days. She'd spent the night on the outskirts of the Starwood Strand, in a seedy bar that she could have sworn was called the Arcanist's ***. You will have to pardon her uncertainty: at the time, she was blind-drunk and trying desperately to keep the contents of her stomach to herself. Now, she has a splitting headache and a mouth that tastes like vomit and dust.

Oh, and her best friend is trying to kill her.

Former best friend, if you want to be pedantic. Orion, taken--or trapped in--the form of a skydancer, fury burning like pale fire in his eyes, has her cornered in a quiet alleyway some ways off a busy marketplace. No one will come if Aquila shouts for help. Not that she has any intention of doing so.
