Biography
Eldara had begun existence as a darksteel pendant, a glittering piece of jewelry hung around the neck of Praecan. As his owner began giving more and more of herself to her necromancy - pieces of her soul - Eldara transformed and awoke as a tiny Fae child.
Praecan had been delighted with her new son. She held him close in their vault at night, murmuring promises in her half-dead voice of what they would do and be together. Eldara knew better than to believe most of her promises, but there was one lesson he'd always believed. He'd heard it invoked in rituals as a pendant, after all.
"Black is the color of laughter.
Black is the color of joy.
Black is the blood on my casket;
It's the palette of the Void.
Black is happy-ever-after,
As tragedy is to befall;
I blacken my soul with disaster,
Leave it plastered on the walls."
This meant that he, himself, was the color of laughter and joy and happily-ever-afters. He was pleased with that, in a distant sort of way. People liked laughing and feeling good, he knew that much - people who weren't Praecan, at least. He felt like he could enjoy making people happy.
