She took up merchant work due to her ability with numbers and her skill with trading. Hiraeth will follow her to the ends of Sorneith and back.

Fernweh grew up with Hiraeth as a dancer in a travelling caravan clan. This clan, however, was torn apart in a beastclan raid and the surviving clanmembers were left scattered in the winds. Hiraeth and Fernweh travelled for many years in search of their lost clanmates, but weren't able to find any of them. They've since decided to take up permanent residence amongst Maverick and Vellemere's clan, hoping a certain caravan will decide to come their way.
