Singer

Even as a newly-adopted hatchling running through Tetti and Yael's lair, Singer had an interest in fashion. When she'd first arrived, Ghost had sat with her for a long time to help her choose a name. She had stared at the antique claw he dipped in ink to write, at Eavan's trailing ribbons, at Neo's refined vest, at everything. Ghost had laughed, noticing her fascination, "How would you like the name Singer, after the machines used to sew clothing?" Singer's eyes had lit up at the prospect, "Oh yes! Yes yes yes!"

Singer took to her name like a duck to water. She badgered Neo to build her a sewing machine, which took a few tries but he did eventually manage it. She scribbled designs on scraps of parchment and learned to bring them to life both by machine and by hand. She sold her products in the marketplace and would use the funds to create even more. She found joy in her work and so the others are always happy to assist if she asks. Ivore would help her to add extravagant beaded touches, Andrea would forge elaborate accents, and so on and so forth.

Singer met Julius not long after settling in and the two became fast friends. Both being new, they were able to explore their new home together. Singer helped him to write letters to his friend Sylvia and Julius helped Singer dig in the hoard for scraps of fabric to try out new designs with. He was willing to try on anything, and never seemed to mind being her mannequin whenever she asked. The two grew very close and, eventually, chose each other as mates.

[Familiar swapped because it was awakened, and will be back when others are awakened] Singer's familiar is a sweet brown-spotted mith she met in Exotic's garden one day. The timid creature had, at first, squabbled angrily with her over the flowers she had been uprooting to put in pots near her work area. It had quickly settled down when she replanted them and began chatting with it instead. The two eventually came to an agreement. This was indeed Exotic's garden, so it couldn't commandeer the area and prevent them from harvesting. However, Singer was more than willing to set up her corner of the cave with any number of potted plants that it was free to declare dominion over. The mith found this agreeable and immediately began planning the layout of it's new home, even bringing along it's own partner, a primrose mith who became Julius' familiar. Though the mith doesn't find it's talents to be useful to Singer's apparel making, the two enjoy working in proximity as the mith tends its garden and Singer sews away.
