Vylora never was comfortable with the way her lover viewed art. Though it did bring her a life of comfort, of minor luxuries, it wasn’t the reason she created. Financial and worldly gain were not the motivation behind her elaborate works. She simply wished to express herself and grant others the opportunity to share in those expressions.

When an art competition pitted her against her own lover, she thought it would be fine. That it would be nothing more than a friendly rivalry. But when her lover came after her life, bent on destroying her personally to secure their win and finally be unchallenged in the art world, she had a choice to make.

She chose to run. Abandon her home, her family, her possessions except for the few valuables she couldn’t live without; she left it all in order to escape the murderous intent her lover revealed.

Art felt less safe after that. She didn’t want others to see her works. Not only because she was afraid that her ex-lover might find her but because those events drastically changed her style in a way she felt self-conscious about. No one could love her or her art.

It was Sterlyn who discovered her and drew her into Black Harte. But it was Rauch who saw her art by chance and became a gentle supporter of her creativity.

She’s found herself falling for both Rauch and Sterlyn but can’t bring herself to choose one of them. Some men have multiple wives, can she not have two husbands?
