____Loud, uncouth, colorful and frequently shirtless, Cade is always the least expected attendant at any academic symposium, which may be exactly why he plays up his charms. He's the foremost expert on Thassalonian Lore, a highly specific branch of archeology that has gained renewed attention with discovery of artifacts that still possess magical capabilities. No one can do what he does, and he knows it.

____Cade comes from a nomadic clan of merchants known for their hospitality, their story-songs, their vibrant culture and their penchant for accepting anyone into their midsts. The world around them can only dream of being as accommodating. Without traditional roots or ties, they make for easy targets of unfounded assumptions and cruel speculations.

____Cade grew up knowing that the world considered him as an outsider, and it was made all the worse because his mother wasn't part of their clan. Throughout his childhood, she was a distant and unsympathetic figure with little interest in her child or his father. But she was brilliant, a scholar of the highest regard. He spent many years trying to gain her approval, and when that wasn't enough, he surpassed her entirely.

____His ambitions took him to the ends of the world, deeper beneath the crust than anyone had ever gone. He consorted with demons and gods and those who would be both. He would have torn the world apart to prove himself worthy, if not for his family. His clan always believed that family was made up of those who chose to stay. So when they needed him to, Cade stayed.

Now, he flaunts his experiences to make elitist academics uncomfortable, and gets first pick on all the fancy finger sandwiches.
