Biography
A deep underground cavern - despite being miles from a hint of sunlight - shone in a dazzling array of colors as brilliant luminescent crystals protruded from the earth and rock in a rainbow of vibrant colors. A small trickle through the rocks turned a large divot in the rock into a natural underground pool tinted a glowing minty shade by various algae colonies.
Here, where very little moved, and the drip of water droplets echoed through the deep, twisting tunnels, lay a slumbering secret.
Vaizel slowly cracked one aqua eye open and glanced around. He snorted out a breath, wisps of smoke wafting from his nostrils. His hibernation had been years long, but slowly the mammoth dragon began to stir and rise to his feet. His claws scraped over the rocks and produced a shrill squeal that sent cave lizards darting for the safety of their nooks.
Though most of his body was plated in light blue shades, several of the glowing crystals had taken root along his body, further fortifying his insect like armor with gleaming, jagged points. The plates of his body clicked softly with every movement as he slithered over to the pool and drained a long drought from it. His tongue curled over his lips to swipe every last droplet from his muzzle and he dug his razor talons into the sandy pile that had accumulated around the water's edge. With his thirst satisfied, it was time to fill his belly with something more satisfying than the meager bites he'd taken of lizards and insects that had crawled over his snout during his slumber.
It was time to hunt and feast.
