Ardens

Ardens was born in Shadow Flight but he never fit in. Partly it was because of his unfortunate color and partly because of his honest heart. Shadow Flight members aren't evil but in general they do share a tendency to scheme and sneak around trying to find weak spots and outsmart their opponents rather than engage in a fair fight. And they certainly aren't above bending the rules if it serves their purpose. Ardens has always found this behaviour tiring. He believes that an open discussion or a simple brawl is usually more efficient.

He's always been a black (or rather white) sheep of his family so he doesn't actually mourn the loss of contact with them. As soon as he heard about a new lair led by a female Guardian, he hurried to offer his services in hope to be accepted as a new member to the clan. The situation turned out to be different from what he expected. Umbra, the Guardian leader, was clearly a stranger to the Tangled Wood and very distrustful to everything around her. He felt sorry for her and wanted to help her although this clan didn't seem to offer him a bright future. He ended up telling her some nonsense about a Council that sent him. The idea was ridiculous because Shadow clans can never agree on a single thing. They love their freedom and games.

Still Umbra let him stay and since that time he did his best to help her build the lair, find supplies and offered company so she didn't feel so alone.

He doesn't get on well with the Spiral Harper who is the clan's advisor in financial matters. She reminds him too much of his family and their manipulations. He was the one who gave her the nickname 'Hyper' because of her spontanious decisions and her rapid speaking pattern. It was supposed to be an insult but it kinda sticked and now everybody call her that.

With more dragons joining the clan, he got a bit paranoid. He's afraid he isn't good enough and will loose his privileged place by Umbra's side in the competition with others. He's liked Umbra since they first met and made a promise to keep her well and safe, whatever it takes. He sees every change and every new member as a possible threat until they prove him otherwise.
