Bio and Lore
Wraith is one of the most infamous mercenaries in Fungal Fauna. Ruthless and brutal with little care for her targets, it's not surprising she goes exclusively for "dead or alive" contracts. Whenever she spots who she is after, it may not matter if it's in a public location as she quickly moves in for the kill. Physically powerful and skilled with her magic, her sudden attacks leave little time for reaction, and her vicious strikes shred and usually kill opponents, leaving enough behind for her to claim the reward for their body. Outside of mercenary work, Wraith is a tortured soul. Years of neglect and abuse has left her constantly seeking to prove herself. This leaves her trying to keep up the name she's made for herself, despite the brutality it entails. She refuses help from anyone, and this makes her come off as distant and cold. She lashes out at anyone trying to show her kindness, and it isn't uncommon for her to intimidate others out of showing any sort of concern for her wellbeing. No one knows the extent of the damage this has done to her mental health, but there's more than her face being hidden behind her headdress. Wraith had already into mercenary work when she was rescued from the Abiding Boneyard. Suffering from dehydration and having contracted a disease that had worked into wounds onto her body, she was struggling to remain conscious. After recovering, she decided to use Fungal Fauna as a place to stay between missions, though she never grew close to anyone. Even now, little is known about her past, outside of her brief exchanges about how she grew up. The basic idea seems to be that her siblings were treated far better due to meeting whatever expectations her parents had set, and she forever remained a step behind them. Her punishments for this are unknown, but it clearly left her scarred. While having no direct friends or enemies of note, Wraith is at least an ally of Fungal Fauna. She's normally paid more than enough from her many tasks she takes up, often donating extra to support the clan. She also believes the Plague philosophy of survival, which further enforces the idea that she needs to prove herself. These beliefs are why she has yet to ask for the disease in her body to be removed, thinking it helps her reach these personal goals. Most of the clan hopes she comes to her senses sooner rather than later, as no one can forsee what may become of her in the future if she continues down her current path. |
