  About           
 This whole quest; the saving the future, the prophecy where he's apparently the avatar of Gawain the White Wolf, its a hard thing to swallow. Well, at first. But then, that witch Matthew had to go and make him take them to this enchanted forest, where he discovered his brother-in-law has been alive all these years, and that he's an uncle, and his in-law is a part of this quest too. And then he went and chopped a giant's head off, and they all learned that his brother is also still alive. It's hard not to take this all as truth when it's happening as he's breathing.

 He doesn't think he'll ever be able to tell Matthew how much he means to him, especially now that he's been reunited with his family. He doesn't think Matthew will ever understand how much he's in his debt. Or how much gratitude he has that he can't express, because the words get lost on his tongue as he looks at the man and is spell bound by ... uh. Something. His stupidly broad shoulder's probably. Maybe his soft eyes and his sharp wit. Something about Matthew leaves him speechless and that is a feat in itself.

 If it wasn't for Matthew and his mad ravings of a prophecy so wild and unbelievable the only logical response was to laugh at, Gilbert would still be sitting in his shoddy shack, drinking himself to death. Not sitting here, on the road with his brothers and nephew, his family, happier than he's been in a long time. And that certainly is something to laugh at, considering how much he hated the very idea in the beginning.

 Gilbert knows in his very soul, he would follow Matthew to the end of the world, if just to be by his side. He can't think of anywhere else he'd rather be.
