Sanguine was raised in a clan running rampant with worshipers of the Shade- and with a dark ritual, her and her siblings were infected with the dark powers of Shade-touched beings and treated as miniature gods by the clan. It wasn't until Cyrene, Sangune's younger-hatched sister, went on a rampage with her powers, that Krahe's guild stepped in to clean up their mess.
Sanguine was found fighting her sister, trying to keep her from hurting their mother, who had already been mortally wounded by Cyrene and was on the verge of death. Cyrene could not be killed by any mortal means- so she was captured by the Umbra Venatores to be kept contained. Sanguine was viewed as much as a threat and for a time, was kept locked up with her sister. Sanguine was far from immortal, though- Cyrene nearly killed her a couple times, which led to them eventually being seperated. Krahe took notice of Sanguine's abilities, and how well she could control herself, even though she was infected with the Shade. Those in the upper echelons of the clan decided that Sanguine could be of use to them- a powerful weapon, if trained and socialized correctly. Sanguine didn't care what they were going to do to her- she just wanted out of the dungeons, away from her monster of a sister that had killed so many dragons without a hint of remorse. Secretly, Sanguine knew she wanted as much chaos as Cyrene did- she wanted to wreak havoc, to destroy, to kill- but her mortality told her it as wrong. So she shoved the dark feelings away- afraid of who she might become if she succumbed to them. Put under the more-or-less careful guidance of Alptraum, Sanguine was trained and turned into a weapon. Being Shade-Touched, she was more powerful then most SkyDancers- having strength that was oddly powerful for her breed, and senses so sharp they could cut glass. Alptraum soon found out Sanguine was capable of telepathically manipulating the emotions of others, if only slightly- mostly towards anger and jealousy, from how the other trainees acted around her. Sanguine kept it secret from everyone- only Alptraum ever knew of it. Sanguine eventually graduated from training and became a fully-fledged Shade-Hunter. Everyone in the clan still has doubts about her- killing things just like herself seemed hypocritical, to say the least, but although she's hated by many, Alptraum and Krahe continue to encourage her to use her skills to aide them in the destruction of the Shade.  |

She's happened to bond with many different kinds and they all adore her enough to die for her. She prefers their company over dragons'.
