A blow in from the Fortress of Ends, her beauty garnered the attention of those in the red glass district quite quickly after her arrival. Most dragons of a certain beauty are thought to, if not expected to end up in the red glass district as a beautiful face will easily make money there-- enough that any unsavory actions can be bought into obscurity. Thankfully for Gemmis, treasure and gems mean more than any social standing she could care to foster.
Thus the Ghoulish Dancer was born. A dancer by trade, when she was first approached by Amnisaereum she was cautious. Gemmis is no fool, and from her first step in the red light district, her sense of awareness had been in overdrive. She was slender and lithe, made to dance and definitely not fight. So being approached by a nocturne and her...lackeys? workers? regardless, had been unnerving. Instead of forced recommendations under the guise of friendly introduction, Amnis' had merely preened up at Gemmis with a lopsided smile and offered her an offer she couldn't turn down, " you up for a meal kid?" She was never asked to join or even had the cabaret brought up to her in any way that implied her to consider working there-- only friendly banter between two dancers. Gemmis had inquired eventually much to the delightment of Amnis' and thus Gemmis was shoved into one of the few honest businesses in the red light district-- Lux Noctis. A Caberet of earnest dancers, though still in line with provocative charm and wonder common of the district. However, there were no unsavory side hustles or back rooms to employ for naughtier uses, which won Gemmis over quickly. Gemmis found this place to be home quicker than she would have liked to admit but despite Gemmis' best efforts to foster friendship with her coworkers and regulars-- there was one problem. The specters tended to be dangerous to those around Gemmis. Ah, how they'd made life as a hatchling difficult. When these specters had first begun to show themselves to Gemmis, she kept it a secret. They'd been harmless and proved to be better company than other hatchlings-- even compared to her siblings. Though as she grew older and learned more, these specters looked less like companions and more like a parasite. She was told it was called many names but most settled back to an old draconian term known as implicitum. The act of specters clinging to life by entangling their waning energy with a young child. As the child grows, the entwinement grows stronger and enables the specters to make themselves more and more apparent. This usually weakens the host, but there is a way to make this relationship symbiotic. Allowing the specters to feed off the life force of those around Gemmis. Whether it be other dragons or those of the beastclans is not of importance, but the specters are voracious and will gorge themselves if given the chance. Though, in rooms were large amounts of dragons gather eating from several dragons becomes next to unnoticeable and with the added flair of them fanning out she can incorporate this into her dancers. Truly deserving of her title as the ghoulish dancer. |
