He knew his name the moment his head burst through his shell. Mouturan. It fit him well, an enormous, powerful name for an enormous, powerful demon-dragon. Unlike most of his siblings, he hadn’t been offered the chance to leave the clan. They all knew he was too dangerous to leave the mindful gaze of dragons that were even more dangerous than he. Power was not all he possessed, for he was also unusually beautiful. The regalia of an Imperial dragon combined with the charm of a demon. Scales and wings of dark obsidian, decorated with faint spots like his mother. Like his father, his dark red bones were visible through his skin in places, giving him a painted look. Red eyes set deep in his skull and a thick mane finished the look. By the time he was an adult, he was at least 30 meters in length. He left the confines of the ravine lair, preferring open air. He was required to stay within the territory, which still gives him plenty of room to explore and hunt however he wishes. A wide yawn split his jaw as he stretched, shaking the sluggish sleepiness out of his muscles. He busied himself cracking his joints, sighing at each muffled click. As he did, he surveyed the landscape around him. He was near the borders of the Plague, Shadow and Water lands, and looking behind him he could see the faint outline of the cliff his clan resided within. He had no need to go back there right now. His stomach growled at him, causing a slight frown. In that case, he'd head towards the Tangled Wood. He knew he could find interesting prey there, and perhaps some of the "magic mushrooms" from Wispwillow Grove. With that, he unfurled his enormous, shadowy wings and bunched his muscles in preparation to take off. A few leaps and he caught a cool breeze, likely from the Sea of A Thousand Currents. His lungs filled with fresh air as he rose higher into the sky. Angling his wings, he soared over the border of his territory. The landscape seemed to shift as he crossed into the Tangled Wood, and he scanned for anything edible.
