Biography

The ice creaks around your fragile body. You are cold, colder than you've ever imagined. You had no concept of cold, as your tottering legs brought you closer to the shining crystals.

Your parents do not hear you. Buried by claws of ice, they will not hear again. You are a child born of flame and ash, and you are so cold. Your frost-coated throat cannot even call for help as your skin grows swirls of blackened frostbite.

You curl into the oh-so-familiar shape, recalling the egg you had hardly shaken off- the warmth of its memory is as distant as the cries of your clutch. The springtime will not recognize your fragile bones. You are the first casualty of this rebirth.

Your ancestors will mourn you as a hero of old; "another one taken by the ice", they weep. "we trusted in their safety." You were not built to be cold. The fire in your belly was nothing but sparks, your tiny wings trembling as your raised your head for the first time.

It was not their fault. The guilt they bear is of their ancestors, and the fire that should have raised you is one now of passion. The bloodshed of old is gone, but you are still cold. 		ezgif-7-05cce1df476f.png
