Jasmine could hear odd noises coming from the nursery, and hurriedly went to see what was happening. She could still fit through the tunnel if she kept her wings tucked close to her sides, but it was beginning to be a tight fit. With her long body, it didn't take long to reach the nest, where she saw one of the eggs shaking slightly, a small crack already discernible on the shell.

Jasmine squealed, then hurriedly backed out into the main room. "They're hatching! Arion, watch them! I need to find Archer and Siara!" Leaving the unicorn, Jasmine raced to the entrance, only for her snout to collide with Archer in the process of descending.

"They're hatching!" Jasmine exclaimed again. "Hurry Archer, they're hatching!!" She nudged him in the direction of the nursery, waiting behind for Siara and Blossom. The latter was next to enter, and Jasmine enthusiastically informed her of the arrival of the hatchlings. She then looked to the entrance again, but Siara didn't emerge. Jasmine stuck her head out to see what was taking so long, but couldn't see the Tundra anywhere. Confused, she lowered herself and looked to Blossom. The mith shook her head, sorrow filling her gaze.

Oh no. Jasmine's excitement gave way to anguish as she realized what the mith was saying. Slowly, she crawled back down the tunnel to the nursery, where Archer was staring dejectedly at a tiny, fluffy white Tundra with a purple mane and wings, newly hatched. She saw now that Archer was covered in dried blood, darkening his legs and belly fur. He had always been quiet, but now it was a depressed silence, as he watched the second egg begin to hatch.
