Click. Clack. Click. Clack.

The sound of frozen chains, gently bumping against the cold stone floor, rings throughout the hall. Cold water drips from the frost carpeting the walls, joining the puddles below in silence. From the ceiling, icicles clink soundlessly together, prone to falling at the slightest of touches- a trap deadly to anyone who makes a wrong move. The air is frighteningly still, and apart from the noise of the chains, all is quiet.

A guardian is walking down the hallway.

The guardian turns, her head swivelling to face the nearest cell door. A gaoler stands resolutely in front of it, bearing a stony expression. His gaze travels upwards to her face, and briefly, a hint of unease flashes across his own- but after only a moment he resumes his apathetic façade. Straightening up, he clears his throat.

"You had another hour of break, Echo."
