Grimm was hatched and raised in the Children of the Blood-Mark, one of the many offspring of her Matriarch before her, and possessing an untapped greed and lust for power. In life, she ascended through the ranks of the then-prolific Children swiftly, her prowess in battle unmatched. It was no great surprise when Grimm was named Matriarch when her own mother heeded the call of the Plaguebringer.

However, this proved to be an unfortunate decision. Grimm was power-hungry and vain, more obsessed with how others saw her than the duty bestowed upon her family. The seeds of corruption had been planted in the Children before her time, but under Grimm's reign, they finally bloomed. She took a dozen spouses, and produced many children, but the family was suffering. As the Children grasped merely for more riches and more prestige under their Matriarch's rule, the other clans of Sornieth began to turn their backs on them.

If Grimm had her way, she would have remained forever— but nothing is eternal. One of her own daughters, Aldith, saw the poison in her mother and family, and could not let it last. Allying herself with a fellow Blood-Marked and one of Grimm's own wives, Aldith challenged her Matriarch for the title. At first, Grimm laughed, and then she jeered, but when the dust finally settled, she was not the one left alive. The Children dumped her body in the Starfall Isles, refusing her burial in the ancestral grounds, and left her there to rot.

But in the end, not even death could prevent Grimm from being forgotten. Her corpse was discovered by the enterprising necromancers of Apotelesmatis and transported to their caverns, chained up, and then the cult's master himself proceeded to reawaken Grimm from the slumber of death. She is his biggest project, and his most deadly.

In the current day, Grimm is alive again, in a manner of speaking. Aware and angry, though there is nothing she can do about it. Tiarnan has great plans for her, something that could be disastrous for dragonkind; she can do nothing but obey. After all, his magic is in every bone of her body, and he can make her dance like a marionette if he so chooses. He's just not done with her yet...
