Leaving Atriena’s lair, you begin to wander for until you stumble on one of the few islands you had yet to visit. It is a rather interesting one, larger than many of the islands and clearly home to more than one personality. The main area is large and grassy, though a huge moss covered rock juts up in the center, strange runes carved into it. To the far right, you spy what appears to be a modest stone building with a bamboo roof. Then, far in the back, there is a large black stone tower with a connected stable, by the looks of things. Approaching it, you find the stalls to be empty, but the tower seems in use. Entering, you find yourself at the base of a staircase, a complex magical seal engraved at your feet. Before you step on it, a Skydancer drops from the sky, landing neatly atop the seal with a huff. He stares you down a moment, then nods.
“Apologies for the start, but you can’t step on this right now. My patron would be most upset. I am Azokore, a summoner. If you’re looking for Ekari he should be back rather soon.”

Azokore was born alone in the Sea of a Thousand Currents, living in silent waters where the Tidelord no longer resided. His flight was a mess, confused and frightened at their deity’s absence, frustrated over their divination no longer working. They felt alone, abandoned, and could not pick up the pieces easily. Azokore was exempt from this, finding comfort in his own visions despite knowing they were not from the Tidelord. Where others may see glimpses of the future or answers to their questions, Azokore saw distorted places, blackened earth with red rain and grey skies. He saw no answers, no life in this hellish landscape his mind was subject to, but he did see purpose. A hunter, chasing unseen prey. A crafter, building bone monuments. A shadow, seeking a refuge. It quickly became obvious Azokore saw nothing but demons, hidden in dark worlds away from their own, and yet he was unbothered by this. In fact, he took it in stride and began to learn the magic of summoners.

Settled in his studies, Azokore began to build his own grimoire, filling it with ancient texts and spells of his own craft. Most were poetic in nature, fantastical queries and requests of the demons he saw in his mind, never demanding something from beings who could and would rip him apart were he too forward. Eventually, Azokore managed to summon a greater demon named Tasrin, who took a liking to the flexible mind the Skydancer had. Tasrin became his patron demon, someone to call upon when he needed to, only asking for offerings of spell parts and strange bones in return.
When Azokore finally left the waters he was birthed in, it was by Tasrin’s suggestion. The demon seemed insistent on Azokore traveling to the Sunbeam Ruins, so Azokore did. He wandered the Ruins for a time until he came across two other dragons: Mevana, a Skydancer practiced in the art of assassination, and Ekari, an Pearlcatcher and adept tracker. They converged on an open flat of rock, grey and brown with moss slowly creeping over it. They struck up a conversation cautiously, only to have it interrupted as the ground beneath them breathed. Before their very eyes, a dragon emerged from the stone, huge and hulking with moss crawling over stone scales--Iskander had woken.

It took some time and careful questioning, but Azokore discovered that Tasrin had been carefully setting up this meeting for ages now, trying to revive the great stone sentinel Iskander for a fight against the Shade’s acolytes. At Tasrin’s instructions, they traveled to the Shifting Expanse to find the Galestorm Flyers awaiting their arrival. They joined the battle against the Dark Queen and settled into their own niche. Azokore was an intermediary between the clan and the demons. Iskander and Mevana became guards, and Ekari tracked dangers associated with the Shade. Somewhere along the way, Azokore and Ekari found their relationship evolving into a romance, sparked by Ekari’s patient acceptance of Azokore’s rituals and attempts to understand his life where others had ignored it. When the Flyers moved to Wind, they followed, knowing their fight was not done even if they got more freedom. Azokore continued his summoner work, honoring his patron and other demons with rituals and offerings, all with his family by his side.

To his clanmates, Azokore can be a stubborn and almost reclusive dragon, though is well known to be extremely loyal. Azokore has never viewed class as important when considering other dragons, prefering to consider character rather than blood first. As such, he has never tolerated any classism from others, whether from royals or otherwise; he has had several arguments with Helios on the topic, most of which were broken up by Ekari. However noble his intentions, Azokore has the bad habit of taking a stance on a subject and refusing to change it, stubbornly sticking to what he knows. To change his mind is a feat that takes much time, one that only Ekari, Mevana, and Iskander have been known to accomplish.

Azokore spends most of his time settled in his tower, communicating with his demons and carefully scribing spells in his grimoire, making conversations few and far between. Those who do find him discovered he actually is rather elegant in his speech, mimicking the poetic nature of his writing in a rather beautiful manner.
Azokore regards the Flyers as an important part of his life and has never hesitated to help them in their fight, but his loyalty is most evident in his interactions with Ekari, Mevana, Iskander, and Tasrin. He does not hesitate to defend their character, trusts in their intentions and seeks them out for protection. With Tasrin, he follows the demon’s instructions and requests almost blindly, only reserving caution in the most dire circumstances (and only by Mevana’s request). With Mevana and Iskander, his loyalty comes in the form of trust. He knows he is not needed to defend them--both are more capable fighters than he has ever been, and neither are bothered by the insults of others--so he instead trusts in their judgements. He trusts Mevana would never caution him against something good, and Iskander would never chase away a light in his life. He would trust them with his soul, his life and everything in it.

With Ekari, things are slightly different. Azokore does trust Ekari with his life, but more so he trusts him with his mind. He tells Ekari much of what he hides from Mevana or Iskander. He speaks of the rituals and visions, of the purpose behind them and all the significance it holds for him, something he holds close to his heart normally for fear of inciting anger. And Ekari listens, he questions and recalls much of what Azokore shares, always trying to find some small way of showing he has listened. Azokore holds that most dear, that small sign of love that soothes some worry in his heart.
