太花—greatest blossom


He wears crown of thorns as atonement.

The crown prince of a small kingdom, clinging to life.

The Xue Kingdom used to be a prosperous, thriving one. That was, until greed took hold. Despite being a strong nation, their territories grew increasingly threatened by The Shade. In the end, instead of resisting, the nobility started to experiment with it, trying to use its powers for themselves. In doing so, the shade started to corrupt their natures, turning them cruel. Faced with a rebellion, the nobility fought bitterly with the common people they looked down upon. It wasn’t clear when, exactly, but among the commoners, Shade-users also started to appear, turning the fights closer, causing far more casualties.

In the wreckage of a falling kingdom, the young prince was distraught. In the past, his talent and kind nature was deeply respected in the kingdom, but his attempts to calm the fighting only garnered the ire of both sides. The nobility looked at him as a traitor, while the common dragons thought of him as a liar. Both blamed him for the escalating conflict. Trying to please both sides, he accomplished nothing.

When the fighting drew to a close, the once sheltered and protected prince struggled to make sense of the remains of his land. Gathering up the exhausted remnants of his kingdom, he brought them to seek refuge in safer lands. Though far smaller than before, they manage survive.

Taihua wonders if the people still bear hatred for him in their hearts, whether they still curse his name, and remains hidden away for the most part. His body still bears the dark marks of The Shade, as a reminder of the past. Still, when he sees the young ones, new life, born without these scars of the past, he is happy.
