Cletus was born in Traveler's Rest, alongside his siblings Raputa, Pandion, and Tavis. Their mother, Sycra, pushed her children to be fighters like she was, but Cletus was never as strong or fast as his siblings, instead preferring to sit quietly and listen to their father, Artemi, tell stories from the Southern Icefield. When those had been exhausted, Cletus checked out volume after volume of legends and folktales from the city library. When the time came to choose what he wanted to do, Cletus moved to the Spire of the Archives and became an assistant librarian. Sycra did her best to hide her disappointment that he hadn't gone into more manual fields like his siblings, but Artemi was overjoyed that at least one of his children followed in his scholarly pursuits. While working the front desk one day, Cletus was approached by Zae, a sculptor, who was doing research for a fable-themed piece. Cletus was happy to help, and was endeared by the way the Imperial fumbled with his glasses and the stack of books Cletus had piled onto him. As Zae came in more and more for story research, the two became close, and began spending time together outside of work, often at the Kitchen Sink. Cletus' proficiency for storytelling landed him a job running the hatchlings' storytime, at the request of Einion. His ability to captivate an audience of unruly young dragons is quite well-known, and even some older dragons (including Zae) will come in and sit among the hatchlings to hear his tales. |

-he keeps all of Zae's little gifts in his office, except for a sculpture based on his favorite story, which has pride of place in his apartment
