Second born to Muiror, Indis inherited some of her mother's ability to mirror others. Due to their birth of in the Tangled Woods, Indis and her sisters were blessed with the ability to fade into the shadows. Their special abilities made them an asset to the Shadowbinder. Indis trained under the tutelage of the Shadow warriors for a period of time before Muiror's birth clan wrote to remind the leaders of the contract they had made for Muiror's engagement to Ethan; a pick from Muiror's clutch to continue the line back in the clan. Indis was chosen and she parted with her mother and sisters.

Back in the Viridian Labyrinth, Indis met her grandparents and cousin, who were all in leadership positions in the clan. Although she was warmly welcomed by her extended family, Indis chose to continue with her training in her Shadow abilities and Mirror blood technique. She actively sought young dragons who had potential to learn the Shadow techniques passed onto her, and trained them to be spies for the clan.
