Alexander
The Retired Warrior
Backstory
Alexander wasn't always black and red.. Originally, both his body and wings were completely black. Not only that, he also used to be one of the strongest warriors in the clan. Born to Prudence and Madonna along with his siblings: Sable, Toby, and Valentine, Julia was never really that fond of him. She had been Prudence's mate for a long time, and the fact he had children with a newer member angered her greatly. However, she eventually started to grow fond of the four, Alexander especially due to his strength and skill.
One day Julia decided to have them explore some of the outside territory, putting Alexander in charge of the mission. And as the four siblings set out, all was seeming to go well. And eventually, they stopped near a cave where they slept for the night.. Alexander keeping watch. However, the whole group was suddenly ambushed by a gang of savage Raporik. The Pearlcatcher bravely fought them off, the others hurrying off to the territory to get help by his command. And when they came back with more of the warriors, it didn't take long for them to successfully scare off the hawk-like creatures in their larger numbers.
However, Alexander had received devastating injuries from the battle, his wounds so bloody they stained his coat a dark, crimson red. And though his wounds were mostly healed, he was told he'd never be able to hunt or fight again. But, despite this, he is still hailed as a legendary hero to this day, eventually having a child named Kratos with another warrior named Midna.
Personality
Before his injury that forced him to
retire, Alexander used to be a strong, brave, and honorable fighter. He rarely gave up in times of need. Some could probably see him as ruthless, but really, he was just as kind and caring as any other dragon once you get to know him.
However, after the horrible battle that turned his scales crimson red, Alexander was left crippled. His pearl was cracked (however, it did eventually seal back up) and for a while he fell into a deep sadness. Of course, he couldn't fight or hunt and could barely walk a few meters by himself, so the whole time he had to lie around, feeling useless. Even the praise the other dragons gave him for being a hero just didn't really help.
And though it seemed like the sadness would never pass until the day he'd probably die, it all eventually changed when he met Midna, a warrior just like he once was. She seemed to almost give him new purpose, the one child they had together especially. And even though Alexander would never be able to be a warrior himself again, he'd let Kratos follow in his footsteps to maybe one day be the same hero he'd been.. without getting injured, hopefully!
