Rysear

Rysear is a wind dragon who meant to cross the Ashfall Waste to reach the Shifting Expanse, hoping to study electricity and become an apprentice engineer. Clan Perfect helped her escape a beastclan, and she piqued their interest by coming to the defense of the beastclans, despite their close call. "We take things from them," she said matter-of-factly. "I'd hate us too." Further conversation revealed Rysear's love of reading beastclan books and fascination with technology. The dragons were very curious about her ideas, and she was surprised to eventually realize that she could have a home here if she wanted it. She did eventually make it to the Shifting Expanse, where she studies electricity. But Pounce still sees her as a member of the clan and keeps a room open for her. Rysear has taken a liking to RotRocket, who shares a fascination with technology, and she keeps in touch as she can.

It was Rysear who found the book with a picture of a tower. A building, like what beastclans build, but very large. Huge. A very old kind of building, a kind of building beastclans built before there were dragons to knock them down. Inspiration. The edges of the pages were spotted with red flecks. Books never end up in dragon hoards gently.
