bio ❧ Runanthus was stolen as an egg by a pair of Deviant Crow parents, one among many others. He hatched alongside his siblings of different Crow variants, from different parents, though the only parents that he would ever get to know were the two Deviants that raised them. Partly as their children, but mostly as their test subjects. He would quickly find that the love his parents had to give, was not of the nurturing kind. He was experimented on with the diseases his parents collected and created, while also being taught about their work, and given the proper combat training an Albino Crow ought to receive. This warped perception of parental love is what led him to seek comfort in devotion to the Plaguebringer, something that his parents did not indulge in themselves, but made no moves to stop him from doing so. Runanthus sought solace in Plague’s philosophy of strenght and triumph over struggle, and unbeknownst to his siblings and parents, he made plans to escape his home, and move to the Scarred Wasteland. He set his plan in action once he knew he was strong enough to face the world, and more importantly, other Crows, and successfully made his escape. Arriving in the Scarred Wasteland, he learned about the Necromantic Trials, he saw becoming a Necromancer as the ultimate way to solidify his devotion to Mother. And, to his joy, he succeeded, rising on the 24th dawn with those trademark crimson scars stitched across his body. Now a Necromancer, he saw new paths opened up to him. Namely, now he found himself indulging in the same kind of curiosity that his parents were filled with, with just as little regard for moral boundaries. His journey took him far and wide, eventually leading him to a young Albino Crow by the name Daffodil, who was filled with aspirations of creating their own Crow clan of all variants. His curiosity piqued, he offered his services to them, and settled down in the forest with their group to continue his research. Though still traveling now and then for various reasons, he is primarily occupied in the forest, serving as the clan’s Necromancer, while indulging in his personal work. notes ❧ -He is the one behind Daffodil’s clan all having Beige as their tertiary. Daffodil requested that he mutate their strain so that it would have an effect on even full-blooded Effluvials, and the draining of color from one’s runes/peacock markings is a side effect of his work. -He and Cloveum are on semi-friendly terms with each other. Runanthus was the one to introduce Cloveum to Daffodil. -His mate, Rhea, lives in a clan of Necromancers located on the very other end of the Shifting Expanse from where Daffodil’s forest is located. He travels to this clan now and then to visit her. -He likes the color red, and it shows. trivia ❧ -Name comes from the word ”rune” and the Greek word for flower, ”ánthos” | xxxx |
